The Laboratory of Serology and Microbiology Applied to Hygiene (LSMI) is part of the Department of Public Health and Pediatrics of the University of Turin.

Currently, the research activities of LSMI mainly focus on the environmental spread of Legionella in water networks and of non-tuberculous mycobacteria (MNT) in heating-cooler devices supplied to cardiac surgery units.

LSMI offers laboratory analyses and consultancy services on issues pertaining to microbiological environmental monitoring and healthcare-related infections.
